GameFi

The "Play to Earn" game model of chain games like Axie Infinity pushed GameFi to the forefront. Considering the performance of the public chain, most of the early GameFi projects chose to be based on the Ethereum chain. Popular projects, such as CryptoKitties, once caused congestion in Ethereum, were the biggest constraint on the development of early GameFi. With the successive appearance of Layer 2 and other high-performance public chains, many problems such as on-chain congestion, high gas fees, and low data carrying capacity have been greatly solved, and GameFi has entered a period of explosive growth.

GameFi is not a simple DeFi+NFT model. It gamifies financial concepts and protocol rules, and NFTizes virtual scenes, props, characters, and derivatives. Based on its huge and complex relationship, it introduces traditional gameplay methods such as battles and social interactions to meet the needs of participants in the GameFi project to obtain entertainment and social needs other than encrypted assets.
