# BSC

Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is one of the main public chains under the world’s biggest digital currency exchange Binance. BSC can be regarded as a blockchain parallel to Binance Chain. Currently it mainly serves DeFi and NFT ecology. BSC has a smart contract feature and is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Its designing goal is to maintain the high throughput of the complete Binance Chain while introducing smart contracts into its ecosystem.
